Moves Festival @ Bluecoat Gallery, Liverpool 2010
This video installation was inspired by my research on the AHRC funded project "Watching Dance: Kinesthetic Empathy". It was selected for exhibition by the Bluecoat GaIlery in Liverpool in 2010, as part of the Moves Festival.
The installation shows the faces of three spectators while they are watching a dance performance, Double Points by the choreographer/dancer Rosie Kay. In the gallery space, the performers` breathing was audible and audience members had further the choice to listen to three individual electronic soundscores.
The installation allowed the gallery audience to immerse into the bodies and minds of dance spectators by listening to the neurophysiological processes and watching their instatiation on the faces - leading to speculations on the dance they have seen.
