My artistic outputs have been dance performances, installations, and digital, interactive tools.
In my artistic practice, I am dedicated working with ‘authentic movement’, whereby the surrounding environment, social interaction and topic of the artistic work inform movement initiations and expression. This allows a focus on presence within my artistic practice.
Although there is often a link between my scientific research and my artistic works, these do not intend to solely communicate research didactically to an audience. As a scientist, I see the performances as objects of scientific research too but it is important for me that audiences are nurtured and provoked through the distinct sensory experiences of my work. As an artist, I hope this propels them to more intimate conversations with the topic explored.
